A collection of the three novels - The white monkey, The silver spoon, and Swan song - A modern comedy depicts the history of the younger generation of Forsytes just as poignantly as The forsyte saga detailed the history of their elders. In creating the many extraordinary family members, Galsworthy drew a fascinating and illuminating picture of the British propertied class, from the wealth and security of the mid-Victorian age to the post - World War I era of labor movements, social malaise, and change.
