The concluding volume of this Victorian-era yuri drama brings emotional resolution to the story of Hanako, a reserved Japanese noblewoman studying in England, and Alice Douglas, a troubled young aristocrat suffocating under social expectations. As their bond deepens, both women are forced to confront the rigid constraints of class, gender roles, and propriety that shape their lives. Themes of identity, loneliness, mental health, and the search for personal freedom are handled with sensitivity and restraint. Dr. Pepperco’s delicate artwork and character-driven storytelling give the romance a quiet intensity, making this series especially appealing to readers who appreciate historical settings, slow-burn relationships, and thoughtful explorations of queer love and self-discovery.
