A dark and compelling tragedy, this play follows the rise and fall of a Scottish nobleman whose encounter with three prophetic witches awakens a ruthless ambition. Urged on by his equally determined wife, he seizes the crown through murder, setting in motion a chain of paranoia, tyranny, and bloodshed. As guilt and suspicion close in, the cost of unchecked ambition becomes devastatingly clear.
Written by William Shakespeare, one of the most influential writers in the English language, the play explores enduring themes of power, fate, conscience, and the corrupting force of desire. Tense, poetic, and psychologically penetrating, it remains one of Shakespeare’s most performed and studied works, appealing to readers interested in drama, moral conflict, and the complexities of human nature.
