A dark, irreverent take on the superhero genre, this series imagines a world where super-powered “heroes” are corporate-controlled celebrities whose public personas hide corruption, excess, and brutality. To keep them in check, a covert CIA-backed team—known informally as “The Boys”—uses intimidation, blackmail, and force to hold the powerful accountable. Written by Garth Ennis, acclaimed for *Preacher* and his sharp, subversive storytelling, the book blends biting satire, graphic violence, and political commentary with bleak humor. It’s a provocative deconstruction of superhero mythology that will appeal to readers who enjoy mature, uncompromising graphic novels that challenge genre conventions.
