The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins is a bestselling nonfiction book in which the author, an evolutionary biologist, argues that a supernatural creator almost certainly does not exist and that religious faith is a delusion—a persistent false belief despite strong evidence to the contrary. Dawkins critiques traditional arguments for God's existence, explains religious belief from evolutionary and psychological perspectives, and proposes that morality can exist independently of religion. The book also highlights the harmful effects of religion on society and encourages atheists to be proud and outspoken about their worldview. Published in 2006, it became a key work in the New Atheism movement, sparking significant debate about faith, science, and reason.
