The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski is a collection of short stories that introduce Geralt of Rivia, a witcher with enhanced magical powers and combat skills. The book blends Slavic mythology and dark fantasy, exploring themes of moral ambiguity, destiny, and complex human nature. Geralt faces curses, monsters, and difficult choices in a gritty world where the line between good and evil is often blurred. The stories also explore his relationships, notably the origin of his bond with the sorceress Yennefer, and the burden of fate intertwined with love and sacrifice. The narrative invites reflection on the nature of evil, morality, and free will through Geralt's adventures and encounters.
