The Witcher: Baptism of Fire by Andrzej Sapkowski is the third novel in the Witcher Saga. It follows the story of Geralt of Rivia, who, after being gravely injured in a coup within the Wizard's Guild, begins a perilous journey to find and rescue Ciri, the heiress to the throne of Cintra, who is rumored to be held in the court of Nilfgaard. As war ravages the lands and magic faces threats, Geralt gathers a new band of companions to aid him on this rescue mission. The novel explores themes of loyalty, survival, and the moral ambiguities of its dark, war-torn world, with a mix of action, sophisticated dialogue, and character-driven vignettes. While the political conflict roils in the background, the book focuses on Geralt’s quest and the complex relationships within his group, making it a rich continuation of the Witcher saga.
