A classic collection of time‑travel stories from one of science fiction’s most respected craftsmen, this volume showcases Poul Anderson’s blend of rigorous historical knowledge and speculative imagination. Several tales feature agents of the Time Patrol, guardians of the timeline who must intervene across centuries to preserve history, while others explore the human consequences of temporal displacement and cultural collision. Anderson’s approach is thoughtful and often wry, balancing adventure with ethical questions about fate, free will, and responsibility. Clear, intelligent, and grounded in a deep sense of the past, these stories will appeal to readers who enjoy smart, idea‑driven science fiction with a strong historical dimension.
