This volume gathers the short stories and fairy tales of one of the most celebrated writers of the late nineteenth century. Best known for his wit, epigrams, and the novel *The Picture of Dorian Gray*, Oscar Wilde brings the same elegance and irony to his shorter fiction. The collection includes society tales, supernatural stories, and lyrical fairy tales that blend charm with sharp social observation.
Wilde’s stories explore themes of vanity, hypocrisy, sacrifice, love, and moral responsibility, often pairing sparkling dialogue with poignant insight. His fairy tales, written for children but resonant for adults, are especially admired for their emotional depth and subtle critique of Victorian values. Rich in style and memorable in tone, this collection offers an excellent introduction to Wilde’s artistry in miniature form and will appeal to readers who enjoy classic literature marked by wit, beauty, and a touch of melancholy.
