Set in the aftermath of *A New Hope*, this volume follows Darth Vader as he maneuvers through the treacherous politics of the Empire while secretly pursuing the truth about the pilot who destroyed the Death Star. As his standing with the Emperor wavers, Vader begins assembling his own network of agents and resources, operating in the shadows to secure power and uncover dangerous secrets.
Written by Kieron Gillen, known for his sharp, character-driven work in comics such as *The Wicked + The Divine*, the story blends intrigue, action, and psychological depth. Paired with Salvador Larroca’s dynamic artwork, it offers a compelling portrait of Vader not just as an enforcer, but as a calculating strategist. A strong pick for Star Wars fans interested in the darker corners of the saga and the inner workings of the Empire.
