Mlađa sestra Stevea Carelle, Angela, udaje se, a veliko vjenčanje na otvorenom priprema se u dvorištu obiteljske kuće Carella. No, Steveov dan započinje rano ujutro neočekivanim pozivom njezina zaručnika Tommyja Giordana. Tommy je zbog nečega uznemiren i želi da Steve dođe do njegove kuće što je prije moguće. Carella ubrzo pronalazi poklon koji je je netko ostavio za mladenca na Tommyjevu trijemu. U kutiji je pauk – crna udovica. Ova knjiga predstavlja prvu čakavsku gramatiku starijeg hrvatskoga književnog jezika kojim je napisana Marulićeva Judita. To je gramatički opis mjesnoga govora Veloga Rata. Djelo je stručno dobro utemeljeno, pisano je primjerenom metodologijom terenskoga prikupljanja jezičnoga blaga te usustavljeno u gramatiku. Sastoji se od 5 poglavlja: Oobci deel, Prominjive riiči po varstah, Neprominjive riiči po varstah, Ričotvorba, Tvorba noviih priidivov. Kao predložak za pisanje autoru je poslužila Gramatika hrvatskog jezika (1992.) Stjepka Težaka i Stjepana Babića, pa je zastupljena čakavska jezična građa jednako usustavljena. Pravo je čudo da su je i kako su je tako dobro uspjeli održati živom stanovnici triju malih sela na Dugom otoku, odakle potječe i sam autor. Tom čakavicom govori se, uz malu razliku, i u većini sela na Braču i Hvaru. Ciljna skupina kojoj je djelo primarno namijenjeno su studenti hrvatskoga jezika i književnosti, studenti učiteljskih studija, studenti odgojiteljskih studija, učenici srednjih škola, profesori hrvatskoga jezika i književnosti, učitelji, odgojitelji, kroatolozi, slavisti. Društvena korist od ovoga djela je velika jer će primarno čakavskome narječju dati veći značaj u zajednici koja govori ovim mjesnim govorom, ali i čakavskome području u cjelini. Svakako je dobrodošlo i na razini cijele Republike Hrvatske jer se upravo ovakvim djelima pokazuje raznolikost i bogatstvo hrvatskoga jezika. Doprinos je hrvatskoj dijalektologiji, napose čakavskome narječju i svakako predstavlja doprinos izučavanju povijesti jezika, hrvatske dijalektologije i nematerijalne kulturne baštine. Knjiga je po svojem sadržaju jedinstvena i predstavlja hrabar autorov pothvat s ciljem da se zaboravu otme i za buduće generacije sačuva vrijedan dio hrvatske kulturne baštine. Uz gramatiku preporučujemo i razlikovni i poredbeni čakavski rječnik, Čakavski harvatski sloovnik, istog autora.
