This large-format hardcover volume was produced by the Polish government in conjunction with staff and caretakers at the sites of the death camps created by the Nazis in World War 2 to perpetuate the horrors of the Holocaust. They have since been turned into national monuments, preserved so the world will never forget the tragedy that occurred, and even more importantly the dangers that could be just an election away…wherever you live. This book has hundreds of full-color and black & white photographs taken both at the height of the camp’s operations, often juxtaposed with what it looks like today. Also has photos of dozens of historical documents, letters, and drawings by those imprisoned and knew all too well what was coming. This book was primarily printed for the tourist trade, and was never exported into the US. Auschwitz: Voices From the Ground Hardcover – January 1, 2002 by Teresa Swiebocki (Author), Henryk Swiebocki (Author), Adam Bujak (Photographer)
